for the 2010 Buffalo Niagara Earth Day Celebration. You will begin to receive weekly
e-mails with more information about GOING green on Earth Day by carpooling, biking,
walking, or taking Metro Bus or Rail, as well as environmental events and activities
happening around the region this April.

Why should our organization participate in the 2010 Buffalo Niagara Earth Day
Celebration?
Registering your organization’s participation and support is a way of demonstrating
your commitment to environmental stewardship.
Earth Day provides a unique opportunity for your organization and
its employees or members to test the options of alternative transportation and the
benefits they provide, as well as take part in environmentally positive activities
such as cleanups, environmental fairs, tree planting, etc. By ridesharing in mass
numbers on Earth Day, WNY’ers will enjoy lower travel costs and reduced traffic-related
stress, while also contributing to reduced vehicle emissions, lower traffic congestion,
and an improved quality of life for all area residents. Your organization’s
participation in Earth Day may help alternative transportation become a permanent
option for some of your employees or members.
What is the cost to participate?
There is no cost for companies and organizations to participate,
and there is no cost for your employees or members to participate.

Between now and April 22, we will send you e-mails to help inform you and your employees/members.
Will you help our employees / members find ridesharing options?
GoodGoingWNY.com is a good resource to explore. To find ridesharing opportunities,
simply enter a starting address and a destination, and the program will identify
carpool matches, bus options, and bicycling routes.
Is there a pledge form?
Yes, we invite individuals to pledge their participation.
